Consensus Vs. Division

First it was Bob Casey from Pennsylvania (the next BIG primary) that threw his hat in the ring with Obama who not only needed the help but recent polls seem to indicate it helped greatly. And then it was former Indiana Rep. Lee Hamilton who is backing Sen. Barack Obama. Both men said that Obama was a choice for consensus vs. division. Hillary is dividing? Polarizing? Tell me it ain’t true!

Hamilton, who during a three-decade House career rose to be chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Intelligence committees, also was vice chairman of the Sept. 11 commission. In an interview Hamilton said he viewed the Illinois senator as a champion of “the politics of consensus and not of partisan division. I think he is driven by the search for the common good”.

Hamilton, once mentioned as a possible running mate for Bill Clinton, told the AP he believed Obama was the candidate most likely to unite the country. I’m sure Bubba isn’t all that happy about this just like his rant against Richardson in California.

Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota endorsed Obama in recent days as well. And all of these people are in that prized category of SUPER delegates!

It was but seven years ago when that guy from Texas ran on a platform of a UNITER. I hope Obama has better luck than Geroege has had. Maybe he can learn a few things from what Bush did wrong, of which there is quite a list. But he needs to win the party nomination first.

And then there’s the general election as well.
