From Oilers To Titans

It wouldn’t be until 1974 that the team would be able to bring their game up to speed after adding a number of good players to their roster.

The eighties, however. seemed to pull the team down yet again and it wouldn’t be until the nineties that the team would get its groove back. They seemed to be on the winning track after getting a Division title win in 1991. But all was not well off the field. The management was not impressed with the way the Titans were doing and in 1993, the team was threatened with dissolution if they did not make the Super Bowl. The Oilers just weren’t able to deliver and as promised, the team’s best player was traded off. By 1996, the team was at its lowest. Game attendance was so low that one could actually hear conversations on the field from the stands. In 1997, the team was moved to Tennessee.

A New Beginning

In 1999, the team began a new era under the name Tennessee Titans and in a show of support football fans bought a number of Tennessee Titans tickets. The Titans did not disappoint and played some of their best football ever, finishing their first season with a fabulous 13-3 record. Many dubbed this season as the Cinderella Season for the Titans and Tennessee Titans ticket sales were going through the roof. The Titans found themselves in two famous NFL moments known as The Tackle and the Music City Miracle. The Titans would also finally make the Super Bowl playoffs.

Just when their game was improving, the Titans were hit with a large spate of player injuries in 2004. The following year, the Titans would field the youngest team in the NFL and the Titans’ game and overall performance improved greatly. Today, they are very strong contenders for the Super Bowl and the large jump in Tennessee Titans tickets is proof that you will not be able to hear conversations on the field anymore.
